University Office and Travel Management

University Office
For each university, a University Office has been established in accordance with § 125 (1) of the Universities Act 2002 (UG 2002). This office is directly subordinate to the Federal Minister and headed by the Rector.

The University Office, acting as the first-instance service authority, is responsible for handling all employment and salary-related matters concerning the public-law employees (civil servants) assigned to the university—both academic and general staff. Appeals against decisions issued by the University Office are decided by the Federal Minister.

In addition, the University Office manages the personnel administration of former contract employees.

Travel Management
The Travel Management Unit is responsible for advising and supporting all processes related to business trips and travel expense reimbursements for all university staff within the electronic travel workflow (ESS).
